West Bengal Elections: Amit Shah released charge sheet on TMC’s 15 years of rule, said – now it’s Bengal’s turn

Kolkata, 28 March. Before the West Bengal Assembly elections, there has been a flurry of allegations and counter-allegations between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is trying to snatch power from it. In this sequence, Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the list of allegations against TMC on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference in the metropolis, Amit Shah said the charge sheet highlights the major issues of the 15-year rule of the Trinamool Congress government. He said that even if TMC dismisses it as a BJP document, it actually reflects the concerns of the people of Bengal and the party is just giving voice to those concerns.

The people of Bengal have presented this charge sheet against Mamata government

Amit Shah said, ‘In today’s press conference, our charge sheet focuses on the issues that have emerged during the 15-year rule of the Trinamool Congress government. Even if Trinamool Congress claims that this charge sheet is from the Bharatiya Janata Party, but I believe that the people of Bengal have presented this charge sheet against Mamata Banerjee and her government, and the Bharatiya Janata Party is giving voice to it.

Bengal will also have to join the race for fast-paced progress and development.

During this, Shah, while referring to the upcoming West Bengal elections, said, ‘The security of the entire country is deeply linked to the results of Bengal elections. Now there is only one way left through which infiltrators enter the country, putting national security at risk. Therefore, Bengal elections are very important for Bengal in many ways. Bengal too will have to join the race of rapid progress and development going on across the country – a journey marked by trust and freedom from the terror of fear. This election is an opportunity to take a decisive decision.

After UP, MP and Assam, now it is the turn of development in Bengal

Highlighting the development that has taken place under BJP-led governments, Shah said, ‘The double-engine government has many examples of transforming states. Uttar Pradesh, which was backward earlier, is now on the path of unprecedented development. Madhya Pradesh has set new records of progress. In Assam, where militancy was rampant for years, a semiconductor plant is now being set up. Now, it is Bengal’s turn.

Mamta didi always Victim Politicshas played

On BJP’s electoral prospects in the region, Shah said, ‘With victory in Bengal, after a very long time, Anga, Banga and Kalinga – all these regions will come under the rule of a single party. There is already an NDA government in Bihar, a BJP government in Odisha and now a BJP government will be formed in Bengal also. In this way, a government with absolute majority will guarantee the development of Bengal. Mamta Didi has always played ‘Victim Politics’ (politics of showing herself as a victim).

It is noteworthy that the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections will be held in two phases – on April 23 and April 29. Counting of votes will take place on May 4 along with four other states – Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry.
