Amit Shah shows strength in Assam: Road show held for BJP candidate in Guwahati
Guwahati. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday began his two-day tour of Assam with a road show here. He did this road show in support of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates in the assembly elections to be held on April 9 in the state.
Shah held a road show in support of BJP candidate Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma, Vijay Kumar Gupta (Guwahati Central), Diplu Ranjan Sharma (New Guwahati), Pradyut Bordoloi (Dispur) and Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) candidate Tapan Das (Dimoria), contesting from Jalukbari seat.
Barring Sharma, other candidates and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Dilip Saikia joined the road show with Shah. This road show started from the grounds of Arya Vidyapeeth College and ended at Nepali Mandir Point in the Central Assembly constituency of Guwahati. A distance of about two kilometers was covered during the roadshow on AK Azad Road.
Standing on an open SUV decorated with BJP posters, Shah was given a warm welcome by the enthusiastic crowd and party supporters present along the way. The video of the road show was shared on ‘X’. The Union Home Minister reached the state capital on Saturday evening. During his two-day visit, he will address several election rallies as well as meet top BJP officials.
