Congress protest on April 2 against fuel shortage in Bihar!
State Congress Media Department Chairman Rajesh Rathod said that the general public is suffering from inflation and shortage of essential commodities. Drastic reduction in the availability of LPG and rising prices of petrol, diesel and electricity have broken the backs of common people, but the central government is not taking any concrete steps on this serious problem.
Regarding this, the State Congress has decided that on April 2, 2026, there will be a massive protest by Congressmen at all the block headquarters of the state and the effigy of the Prime Minister will be burnt.
State Congress President Rajesh Ram has urged all the district in-charges, district presidents, executive presidents and state officials to organize Congress workers in their respective areas to make this program successful and ensure participation in large numbers.
Rajesh Ram said that until the general public does not get relief from LPG, inflation and shortage of essential commodities, the party will continue to struggle as the voice of the people.
Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Central Government. Congress leaders accused the Center of large-scale ‘looting’ through taxes on petrol and diesel in the last 11 years.
Addressing a joint press conference at the KPCC office in Bengaluru, Randeep Singh Surjewala alleged that the Center has collected Rs 43 lakh crore from taxes on petrol and diesel since 2014, which according to him is equivalent to about Rs 1,000 crore per day.
He alleged that despite the recent announcement of reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel, the common man would not get any real relief, and claimed that the move was aimed at benefiting private oil companies.
He said that the reduction in excise duty is a deception. The government is presenting it as relief, but its benefits will not reach the common people. Instead, it will provide an annual duty rebate of Rs 3.6 lakh crore to private oil companies.
