RCB celebrated IPL 2026 with victory, defeated SRH by 6 wickets in the first match of the season.

RCB vs SRH IPL 2026 1st Match Highlight: In the Indian Premier League 2026, the first match of the season was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In this match, RCB defeated Hyderabad by losing 6 wickets. Earlier, captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and invited Sunrisers Hyderabad to bat. SRH scored 201 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. In response to this, RCB batsmen performed strongly and achieved the score with 6 wickets in 15.4 overs.

RCB started IPL 2026 with a win

With this, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the first match of the IPL 2026 season by defeating Hyderabad in a one-sided manner. The credit for this victory of RCB goes to the batsmen. Especially star players Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal. It was only because of the strong batting of these two that RCB was able to win this match.

Match winning innings of Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal

RCB had a bad start while chasing the target and Phil Salt was out after scoring just 8 runs. After this, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal made the match one-sided by adding 101 runs in 45 balls for the second wicket. Padikkal played a quick inning of 61 runs in 26 balls. Even after his dismissal, Kohli maintained the run pace and maintained pressure on the Hyderabad bowlers. Kohli scored unbeaten 69 runs in 38 balls, while Tim David remained not out after scoring 16 runs in 10 balls.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first, scored 201 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs, however, it had a bad start and three wickets fell for 29 runs. After this, captain Ishan Kishan led the team by playing a brilliant inning of 80 runs, while Aniket Verma contributed 43 runs and Heinrich Klaasen contributed 31 runs. While bowling for RCB, Jacob Duffy and Romario Shepherd took 3-3 wickets, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Abhinandan Singh and Suyyash Sharma got 1-1 success.
