Big boost to health model in Punjab: 109 new Aam Aadmi clinics launched, number reaches 990

Fatehgarh Sahib; March 28, 2026: Taking a major step towards strengthening health services in Punjab, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government has dedicated 109 new Aam Aadmi Clinics to the public. With this, the total number of these clinics in the state has increased to 990, while there are plans to open 400 more clinics in the coming time.

 

Major expansion of health facilities

Implementing this health model of the government on a large scale, Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that 107 types of medicines and 47 diagnostic tests are available completely free of cost in these clinics. Till now, about 5 crore OPD visits have been recorded in these clinics.

 

Health card and claim of free treatment

Kejriwal said that the process of giving health cards to 65 lakh families is going on, out of which 30 lakh cards have been made and 1.65 lakh people have availed it. he changed his politics “Politics of Work” Stating that his opponents tried to implicate him and his party in false cases, but no evidence was found in the court.

 

Target on BJP, mention of schemes

Giving the example of Delhi, he said that if BJP comes to power, free electricity, treatment and other public welfare schemes may be stopped. He appealed to the people to understand the importance of these schemes.

Addressing the public meeting, Kejriwal said that 881 clinics had already been built in the last four years and now with the addition of 109 new ones, the number has increased to 990. This number is expected to reach 1500 in the coming time, due to which health services will reach every village and locality.

He said that the Chief Minister’s Office took feedback from the patients visiting the clinics, in which people described the services as convenient and did not make any complaints. Every clinic is being monitored by the government so that there is no shortage of medicines, tests and doctors.

 

Expansion of free treatment and schemes

Kejriwal said that if someone has a serious illness, the government is providing free treatment facilities in private hospitals also. Under this, poor and common citizens can also get treatment in big hospitals.

 

Announcements for electricity, farmers and women

He said that free electricity is being provided in Punjab and farmers are getting electricity continuously during the day. Besides, a scheme to give Rs 1000 every month to women will also start soon, in which Scheduled Caste women will get Rs 1500.

 

CM Bhagwant Mann’s attack on opposition

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his government is working on issues like education, health and employment, while the opposition is only doing politics to gain power. He also accused Akali Dal and Congress of causing harm to the state.

 

Emphasis on infrastructure and irrigation

Mann said that the government has provided water to the farmers by improving thousands of kilometers of canals and channels. Thousands of acres of land will benefit from the new irrigation projects and the income of farmers will increase.
