PM Modi inaugurated Noida International Airport in Jewar, said- this airport will become a symbol of the flight of developed UP

Noida, 28 March. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Phase 1 of Noida International Airport in Jewar, a significant milestone for India’s aviation sector. Noida International Airport has been developed as the second international airport for the Delhi NCR region, complementing Indira Gandhi International Airport. Together, these two airports will act as an integrated aviation system, thereby reducing congestion, increasing passenger capacity and positioning Delhi NCR as a leading global aviation hub. Noida International Airport is one of the largest greenfield airport projects in India.

The first phase of Noida International Airport has been developed under the public-private partnership (PPP) model with a total investment of about Rs 11,200 crore. The passenger handling capacity of the airport will be 12 million passengers per annum (MPPA) in the initial phase, which will increase to 70 MPPA by the time the airport is fully developed. It has a 3,900 meter long runway which is capable of handling large sized aircraft. It also has modern navigation systems including Instrument Landing System (ILS) and advanced airfield lighting to enable efficient day and night operations in all weather conditions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the war in Western Asia has been going on for a month and India is fighting this crisis with full force with the trust of the countrymen. He said, “Today the whole world is worried, the war has been going on in West Asia for a month. Due to the war, there is a crisis of food items, diesel and fertilizers in many countries.” PM Modi said, “Every country is making some efforts to face this crisis, but India is facing this crisis with full force relying on the strength of its countrymen.”

He said that India imports large quantities of crude oil and gas from affected countries, hence the government is taking every step so that the burden of this crisis does not fall on ordinary families and farmer brothers and sisters. The Prime Minister said that even in this time of crisis, India has continued its rapid development. Explaining the importance of the airport, Modi said, “Today we are starting a new chapter of the Vikas Uttar Pradesh, Vikas Bharat campaign. The country’s largest state has today become one of the states with the highest number of international airports in the country.”

He said, “This airport is going to benefit many districts including Noida, Aligarh, Agra, Mathura. It is going to bring many opportunities for the farmers, small industries and youth of the state. Not only will planes fly to the world from here, it will also become a symbol of the flight of developed Uttar Pradesh. I especially congratulate the people of Western Uttar Pradesh for this grand airport.”
