Aditya Dhar was surprised to see Sara Arjun’s audition for ‘Dhurandhar’, Mukesh Chhabard told the reason behind the casting.

The choice of casting director Mukesh Chhabra for ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar 2’ was perfect. When Sara auditioned, even Aditya Chopra was surprised and asked Mukesh, “Who is this?” Mukesh Chhabada told the story of Sara Arjun’s audition in an interview. He also explained why he wanted a new face for the film and why he didn’t sign a popular actress.

Mukesh Chhabada also revealed that thousands of girls auditioned for the role of Yelena Jamali in ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar 2’, including some popular names, but eventually Sara Arjun was signed. On why this was done, Mukesh Chhabra said that they will release her audition video in a few days. Then people will understand why Sara Arjun was cast in the film.

In a recent interview, Mukesh Chhabada said, “We initially discussed the importance of taking a fresh approach to portraying a girl from a different background. Initially, we considered many big and popular actresses. Aditya received numerous messages from different people. I was like, ‘Why not me?’ Such messages came, because he is Ranveer. We were adamant that she should be a new girl with no background, so that he would feel like he was entering that world.”

Mukesh Chhabra said that thousands of girls had auditioned for the role of Yelina, but he was told to give a chance to a fresh face. Mukesh then described the scene where he was auditioned by Sara Arjun. He said, “If you’ve seen ‘Dhurandhar Part 2’, there’s a scene where Yelina asks, ‘Are you an Indian agent?’ That was my audition script.”

Mukesh Chhabada then revealed Aditya Dhar’s reaction to Sara Arjun’s audition. He said, “When she did that scene, I immediately sent it to Aditya on WhatsApp. He asked, ‘Who is this?’ I said, ‘This is a new girl; She has done a few commercials and a few films as a child.’ At first we were thinking, ‘Will she look too small?’ This is an important factor in choosing an artist. But then we thought it would fit the story that he goes there and tries to convince the girl. That is the essence of it.”
