‘Welcome to hell’: Iranian media’s open threat to US troops, warning of returning in coffin
Tehran/Dubai: Amidst the increasing tension in West Asia, Iranian English newspaper ‘Tehran Times’ has given a sharp message to America. The newspaper printed in big letters on Saturday’s front page – “Welcome to Hell” and warned that any American soldier who sets foot on Iranian soil will return only in a coffin.
US military deployment intensified
At the right time of this warning from the Iranian newspaper, America has further increased its military strength. Approximately 3,500 US Marines have deployed to the CENTCOM region from Japan aboard the USS Tripoli (one of the US’s largest amphibious assault ships). This step is considered important towards strengthening American military power in the region.
Probable target: Kharg Island
Experts speculate that this deployment could be a preparation for the capture or operation of the strategically important Kharg island. This island has already been targeted under ‘Operation Epic Fury’.
American attacks on Iran
According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), US forces have struck several Iranian military targets since February 28, including:
– Bases associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)
– Air Defense Systems and Missile Sites
– naval resources
– Weapon Manufacturing Center
So far, US forces have flown more than 11,000 combat sorties and damaged or destroyed more than 150 Iranian ships.
This aggressive warning from Iranian media has come in response to America’s increasing military steps. Experts believe that increasing military activities and sharp rhetoric from both sides may further deepen tensions in West Asia, which may have a serious impact on regional and global security.
