Actually, there will be holidays in all government and private banks of India from 30 March to 5 April 2026. If you go to the bank for any work during this period, your work will not be done and you will be worried. Many festivals and special occasions are falling next week, due to which banks are going to have a long holiday.

Banks here will remain closed on March 30

Mahavir Jayanti is on Monday, 30 March 2026. On this special occasion, all government and private banks of the southern state of Karnataka will remain closed. You will not see any employee in the office, so going to the bank on this day can become a problem for you.

All banks of these states will remain closed on March 31

On Tuesday, March 31, on the occasion of Mahavir Janam Kalyanka/Mahavir Jayanti, all government and private banks of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand will remain closed.

Which banks will remain closed on April 1?

After this, the annual closing of all banks takes place on 1st April. Due to this, all government and private banks will remain closed in Tripura, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Assam, Telangana, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, Delhi, Goa, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.

Government and private banks will remain closed on 2 April

2nd April is Thursday and due to it being Maundy Thursday, you will find the doors of all government and private banks in Kerala (Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram) closed.

Banks will not open in these states on April 3

On Friday, April 3, government and private banks will not open in Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Telangana, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Nagaland, West Bengal, Delhi, Goa, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.

Weekly off on 5th April

5th April is Sunday. Due to weekly off, all banks will remain closed on this day also.
