Patna. Taking another important step towards Digital India, Bihar government has given great relief to the common citizens. Now people will not have to visit the police station for small police services. The government has made police services online and easier by launching the Smart Citizen Service Portal.
Under this new system, citizens will now be able to do many important tasks online while sitting at home. Be it verification of a tenant, domestic help or driver, or giving information about a missing person, all the facilities will now be available at a single click.
Important facilities will be available even without login
The most special thing about this portal is that some services can be availed even without login. Like getting a copy of the FIR or sharing any secret information. Apart from this, people can also easily view information about rewarded or wanted criminals. This will increase transparency and the general public will be able to get quick information.
11 additional services will be available after login
After logging into the portal, citizens will get even more facilities. These include filing an e-complaint, reporting a missing or kidnapped person, sharing information about a lost item, getting information related to the identification of an unknown person or dead body. Not only this, people will also be able to see the details of wanted or arrested criminals online. This will eliminate the need to go to the police station to a great extent in many cases.
Verification and Registration now online
Services related to character verification have also become easier through this portal. Now citizens will be able to get the verification of tenant, domestic help and vehicle driver done online. Besides, registration of senior citizens and information about lost or recovered property can also be obtained sitting at home.
The distance between police and public will reduce
Till now, in many cases, people had to make several trips to the police station to lodge a complaint. Many times complaints were also raised about complaints not being registered. But through this digital platform this problem will be solved to a great extent. This step of Bihar Police will not only make the system transparent but will also strengthen the trust between the general public and the police.
