6 New Electric Cars From Tata And Mahindra: Sierra.EV To BE07

Electric vehicles and their popularity in India have been increasing lately. Not just foreign brands, but Indian car manufacturers are also taking the EV game seriously. Mahindra and Tata are some of the leading Indian names in this segment. While they already have a bunch of EVs in their lineup, they plan to expand it in the coming years. Here, we have a list of six EVs that will be launched by Tata and Mahindra in the market soon.

We will start with Tata first. They currently have the highest number of EVs in their lineup and have been aggressive in terms of launches and pricing since the beginning.

This is the entry-level electric vehicle from Tata Motors in the market. Tata has been testing this particular model recently, and it looks like the EV is about to get an update soon. The 2026 version will come with updated headlamps, front and rear bumpers, and new wheels. The current version of the Tiago.ev is available with 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery pack options. There is a possibility that Tata might introduce a bigger battery pack in the 2026 facelifted version. The updated Tiago.ev is expected to be launched in the coming months.

sierra ev

After the Sierra petrol and diesel, Tata is now working on the electric version of the Sierra. The Sierra EV has been spotted testing on multiple occasions. The SUV will get an ICE-inspired exterior design with EV-specific changes like a closed grille, aerodynamic alloy wheels, revised front and rear bumpers, and so on.

The SUV will get an EV-specific cabin with all the features that are already seen in the ICE version. The Sierra EV will come with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs, which are the same as the Harrier.ev. The Sierra EV is expected to generate similar power and torque figures and deliver a comparable driving range. The EV will also come with QWD, or a dual-motor setup, like the higher variants of the Harrier.ev.

Avinya is a premium crossover or SUV that is likely to make its debut by the end of 2026. The Avinya Concept was first showcased at the Auto Expo, and later we saw different iterations at the Bharat Mobility Expo in 2025. It will be offered as a premium EV and will not be sold through regular Tata dealerships, as it will have an independent sales network.

The Avinya Concept is a mix of an estate and an SUV, and the first model to be launched will be called the Avinya X. Unlike other Tata models, it won’t be offered with an ICE option. Tata will be launching the production version of the Avinya by the end of 2026 or early 2027.

Mahindra has three born-electric SUVs in its lineup, and four if you include the XUV 3XO EV. They also have plans to expand their EV lineup by introducing new models and updates to existing ones.

be 07

The BE 07 will be the fourth EV in Mahindra’s electric lineup and is one of the five concepts showcased to the media a few years ago. Mahindra has now started testing this new EV, and it was recently spotted with heavy camouflage. The BE 07 will most likely feature a design similar to the concept.

The BE 07 looks like a mid-size electric SUV that will rival models like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki eVitara, Toyota eBella, and others. Compared to the Hyundai Creta Electric, the BE 07 is expected to be longer, wider, and offer a longer wheelbase. It will come with premium features similar to those seen in Mahindra’s existing EVs. Mahindra is expected to price it competitively and may offer it with 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh battery pack options.

At the time of the XEV 9S launch, Mahindra had announced that the 70 kWh battery pack introduced in the seven-seater EV would also make its way to the BE6. This battery pack sits between the 59 kWh and 79 kWh options and offers around 600 km of claimed range, along with 242 bhp and 380 Nm of torque.

Just like the BE6, the XEV 9E is also expected to come with the same 70 kWh battery pack. It will generate similar power and torque figures and offer a comparable driving range. By introducing this new battery pack, Mahindra can offer more variety to customers, especially at a time when competition is increasing.
