Tehran. Iran has claimed that it targeted US military equipment and bases in a drone attack on Azraq Air Base located in eastern Jordan. In this attack, logistics warehouses and troop accommodation areas were targeted, which are considered important centers for American operations in the region.
Iran’s West Asia News Agency (WANA) quoted the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) as saying that Iran’s military said it carried out a drone attack targeting US military equipment at the Azraq airbase.
According to the statement, the Iranian military used multiple drones early Sunday to attack logistics and support equipment warehouses, as well as living quarters for US troops.
The base has been described as one of the most important military centers in the region and a major hub for US operations due to its strategic location in eastern Jordan.
The statement further said that Azraq serves as an important operational platform, where various combat and transport aircraft are deployed and it also serves as the major command center for operations conducted against Iran.
