‘Leave unemployment pension and start S@# pension now’

Independent MP from Purnia, Bihar, Pappu Yadav is once again in the news for his statement. Amidst the continuous allegations of sexual exploitation against politicians and officers, he has given such a statement which has heated up the political atmosphere.

He said in the press conference that daughters are not safe in the country and those who are supposed to protect them are now becoming predators. After his statement, sharp reactions are coming out on social media.

What made Pappu Yadav angry?

Taking a dig at the system, Pappu Yadav said that the government should now stop schemes like scholarship and pension and should start systems like ‘Sex Pension’ and ‘Sex Allowance’ in their place. He said that ‘when 90 percent of the leaders and officers are involved in exploitation, then such a system will have to be implemented.’ His statement directly questions the system and also expresses serious concern about the situation of women’s safety.

Are serious allegations made against leaders and officers?

The Purnia MP alleged that in the last 12 years, the country’s girls have been exploited the most by politicians and influential people. He said that daughters are now more in danger from these corrupt leaders and officials than from drugs. This statement raises big questions on the status of women’s safety in the country.

Is it correct to go through ‘bed’ in politics?

Pappu Yadav said that now it has become common to discuss that women have to go through ‘bed’ to move ahead in politics. Describing it as shameful for the country, he said that it is an insult to our mothers and sisters. He also mentioned casting couch in the film industry.

Did you demand speedy trial and death sentence?

Pappu Yadav, while demanding strict law in cases of exploitation of women, said that if the name of any leader or influential person comes forward, then a speedy trial should be completed within a month and he should be given death sentence. He said that now there is a need to take concrete steps and not just pretend to take action.

This statement of Pappu Yadav may create controversy politically, while the debate regarding women’s safety is likely to intensify at the social level. While some people are considering it as a sharp attack on the system, many people are calling it an irresponsible statement.
