IndiGo Launches 30+ New Routes from Navi Mumbai Airport

In a significant development for India’s aviation sector, IndiGo has announced the launch of more than 30 new domestic routes from Navi Mumbai International Airport.

The expansion, which began on March 29, 2026, will continue in phases until April 23, 2026, marking a major step toward improving regional air connectivity.

The airline will operate over 400 weekly departures from the airport, offering passengers increased travel flexibility and improved access to key cities across the country.

Strengthening Domestic Connectivity

The newly introduced routes connect Navi Mumbai with several important destinations, including Agra, Ayodhya, Bagdogra, Belgaum, Chandigarh, Diu, Kannur, Kolkata, Patna, Rajkot, Srinagar, Varanasi, and Visakhapatnam, among others.

This expansion is expected to significantly enhance accessibility between metropolitan hubs and emerging regional cities, supporting both business and leisure travel.

Enhanced Flight Operations and Frequency

IndiGo has also introduced twice-daily direct flights between Bhavnagar and Navi Mumbai, improving connectivity for passengers traveling between Gujarat and Maharashtra. Additionally, the airline plans to commence direct flights to Jamnagar starting April 23, further strengthening its network in western India.

The flights are operated using a mix of aircraft, including ATR planes for shorter regional routes, ensuring efficient and reliable service.

Boost to Navi Mumbai as an Aviation Hub

With this large-scale expansion, Navi Mumbai International Airport is set to emerge as a key aviation hub, complementing existing infrastructure and reducing congestion at major airports.

The increase in flight operations is expected to support economic growth, improve logistics efficiency, and create new opportunities for tourism and trade across regions.

Positive Impact on Passengers

For travelers, the expanded network offers several advantages:

  • Greater availability of direct flights
  • Reduced travel time between cities
  • Improved affordability due to increased competition
  • Enhanced connectivity to underserved regions

Outlook for India’s Aviation Sector

IndiGo’s latest expansion reflects the growing demand for air travel in India and aligns with the country’s broader vision of strengthening infrastructure and regional connectivity. As more routes become operational, passengers can expect improved convenience and a wider range of travel options.
