The IRGC said that as a result of a joint missile and drone operation conducted by the IRGC Aerospace Force following earlier attacks on refueling aircraft at the Al Kharj base, at least one E-3 aircraft has been completely destroyed. This aircraft is commonly known as AWACS and is used for aerial surveillance, command and control. The IRGC said that the aircraft that was targeted was completely destroyed and that other aircraft parked nearby were also significantly damaged during the operation. Following the assassination of the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28, the US and Israeli regimes launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran. These attacks have involved large-scale airstrikes against both military and civilian targets throughout Iran. Due to which there has been a lot of loss of life and property and extensive damage to the infrastructure. In response, Iranian armed forces retaliated by targeting American and Israeli targets in the occupied territories and regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
