Rampur Barkonia Police’s prompt action, 02 accused absconding in theft case arrested within 24 hours

As part of the ongoing campaign to prevent incidents of theft in the district and arrest the accused, under the direction of Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma, guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Anil Kumar and supervision of Area Officer Sadar Shri Raj Sonkar, Rampur Barkonia police station took effective action and arrested 02 absconding accused in the theft case within 24 hours.

Continuous efforts were being made by the police team to arrest the absconding accused related to FIR No. 30/2026 Section 331(4), 305, 317(2) BNS registered at Police Station Rampur Barkonia. In the same sequence, on 29.03.2026 at 08:10 am, on the information of the informer, both the accused were arrested from village Karvaniya near Hasua river bridge.

On the information of the arrested accused, a gold ring, a pair of silver anklets and ₹ 1500/- cash were recovered from their possession. After interrogation, necessary legal action was taken and the accused were sent to present before the court.

Arrested accused Ajay Kumar son of Ramsurat, resident of village Ledua, police station Rampur Barkonia, district Sonbhadra, age about 22 years, Lavkush son of Mahendra, resident of village Padri Kala, police station Pannuganj, district Sonbhadra, age about 22 years.

The police team that made the arrest included Inspector-in-charge Vinod Yadav, Police Station Rampur Barkonia Sonbhadra, SI Ramniwas Yadav, SI Sanjay Pratap Singh, SI Ajit Kumar Singh, SI Sunil Kumar.

The campaign against crime and criminals is continuing by the district police and such actions will continue in future also.
