The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has exposed the illegal arms supply network and busted an illegal arms manufacturing unit running in Meerut. In this action the police have arrested two accused.

According to Delhi Police, on March 19, 2026, the Crime Branch team had received information that a large quantity of illegal weapons were being supplied from Meerut to Delhi. Based on this information, the police laid a trap near Badli Railway Station and arrested an accused Hasir alias Shooter.

During the search, two semi-automatic pistols, one pen pistol and six live cartridges were recovered from him. During interrogation, the accused told that he used to supply these weapons to Meerut resident Parvez alias Farru in Delhi. After this, the Crime Branch team reached Meerut after taking police remand from the court and raided Parvez’s house on 26 March. As soon as he saw the police, the accused started running away, but the team chased him and caught him.

During the raid, Delhi Police found complete arrangements for making illegal weapons from the upper floor of the house. 24 pen pistols, 78 magazines, three barrels, three slides, three pistol bodies, parts of many small weapons and many tools including drill machines were recovered from here.

According to the police, the recovered pen pistols look like ordinary pens and can be easily kept in the pocket. They fire with 7.65 mm cartridges.

Parvez was caught for the first time about 18 years ago. More than 12 cases are registered against him. In 2018, NIA arrested him under UAPA after which he remained in jail for 5 years. According to the police, his name had also cropped up in the incidents of target killing that took place in Punjab in 2016-17. After coming out of jail in 2025, he established the network again. He was accused of supplying weapons to Khalistani terrorists. He has also been in jail for about five years. At present, the police is interrogating both the accused and the search is on for other people associated with this illegal arms network.
