Donald Trump’s Oil Plan: After Venezuela, Trump now eyes Iran’s oil, said – ‘Capturing Kharg Island is my favorite thing’

US President Donald Trump has given a statement amid the current crisis in the Middle East which has created a stir in the global oil market and international politics. After the strategy of controlling Venezuela’s oil resources, Trump has now made it clear that his target is Iran’s most important oil center ‘Kharg Island’. This ‘oil plan’ of Trump can add fuel to the fire amidst the fierce war that has been going on between America and Iran for the last 31 days. What is Trump’s ‘oil’ masterplan? In an exclusive interview given to ‘Financial Times’, President Trump, while revealing his strategy, said, “To be honest, my favorite thing is to capture Iran’s oil.” Trump believes that Iran’s security system on the strategically important Kharg island is very weak and the US military can easily take it under control. Comparing it with Venezuela, he indicated that Washington may aim to control the oil industry there ‘indefinitely’. Kharg Island is the ‘backbone’ of Iran’s economy. This small island, located about 24 kilometers away from the coast of Iran, is no less than ‘Kuber’s treasure’ for Iran. About 90 percent of Iran’s total crude oil exports pass through this island. Iran is the world’s fourth largest oil power with huge oil reserves of about 209 billion barrels and Kharg Island is the main gateway from where oil is loaded into tankers from around the world. Its capture directly means completely paralyzing Iran’s military power and economy. Preparation for ground attack through special forces. According to the latest reports coming from the Pentagon, the US Army no longer wants to be limited to only air strikes. America plans to conduct targeted raids near the Strait of Hormuz and establish physical control over Kharg Island. This will not be a full-scale invasion, but US Special Forces and infantry soldiers can be used in it. Its main objective is to loosen Iran’s grip on global energy routes. Oil center will be used as a pressure point. White House officials have confirmed that the Trump administration wants to use the island as a ‘pressure point’ on Iran. The US intends to force Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and force a peace deal on its own terms. However, experts believe that if America captures Kharg Island, a retaliatory attack from Iran could push the entire world into a major energy crisis.
