Mumbai Indians created history by winning against KKR in IPL, broke 5 years old record
Highest Successful IPL Run-Chases: IPL 2026 has got off to a great start. Mumbai Indians defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 6 wickets on Sunday in the second match of IPL 2026. Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickleton were the heroes of Mumbai’s resounding victory. Mumbai created history by successfully achieving its biggest run chase in IPL at Wankhede ground.
Mumbai Indians achieved the target of 221 runs given by KKR by losing 4 wickets in 19.1 overs. Mumbai broke its five year old record. In the year 2021, Mumbai successfully achieved the target of 219 runs against Chennai Super Kings. This is also the sixth biggest run chase in IPL history.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scored 220 runs on the scoreboard after losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. On behalf of the team, captain Ajinkya Rahane played a brilliant inning of 67 runs in 40 balls. Whereas, Finn Allen scored 37 runs in just 17 balls with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes. Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 51 runs in 29 balls playing at a strike rate of 175. At the same time, in the last overs, Rinku Singh scored unbeaten 33 runs in 21 balls.
Partnership of 148 runs between Rohit and Rickleton
Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton gave a great start to Mumbai. Both of them together added 148 runs in 11.5 overs for the first wicket. KKR bowlers looked completely helpless in front of Rohit-Richelton. Rohit Sharma batted brilliantly and played a strong inning of 78 runs in 38 balls at a strike rate of 205. Rohit hit 6 fours and 6 sixes in this innings.

Rickleton played an inning of 81 runs
