Tata Sierra.EV To Honda Zero Alpha
Electric vehicles are slowly gaining popularity in India, and that is the reason why most brands are experimenting with new models in this segment. In the last five years, we have seen several new models launched in this space from both established as well as new players. Here we have a list of five new electric SUVs that are expected to be launched in the Indian market.
Toyota unveiled the eBella electric SUV in the market recently. Everyone knows that this is a rebadged version of the eVitara and an electric version of the Toyota Hyryder. It comes with features like a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a fixed panoramic glass roof, and a 10-speaker JBL audio system, among others.
It will be offered with a 49 kWh battery pack, producing 144 PS and 189 Nm of torque, with a range of 440 km. The 61 kWh battery pack version will generate 174 PS and 189 Nm of torque, with a range of 543 km.

The much-awaited Sierra will soon be getting an electric version too. The SUV has been spotted testing on multiple occasions and, as per reports circulating online, Tata will be launching the EV sometime between April and June.
The Sierra EV will come with the same design as the ICE version but will get a closed grille, EV-specific wheels, and a redesigned cabin for a cleaner and more spacious look. It will continue to offer a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, and many more features. In fact, it will be offered with both AWD and RWD options from day one. It is expected to be offered with the same 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs.

Vietnamese car manufacturer VinFast currently does not have an affordable entry-level EV in our market. That will change with the launch of the VF3.
It is a small electric hatchback designed to look like an SUV. It will rival the likes of the MG Comet in the segment. This small EV gets a retro hatchback design and is already on sale in several markets. The VinFast VF3 will get a basic interior and exterior and will be powered by 29.6 kWh and 37.2 kWh battery pack options, with a claimed maximum range of 326 km.

Kia’s not-so-popular SUV, the Syros, will also be getting an electric version. Test mules of the Syros EV have been spotted in the past, and it looks like the EV will resemble the ICE version. Like most Korean cars in the market, the Syros EV is expected to be loaded with premium features. It is likely to be powered by 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery pack options. The Syros EV is expected to be launched in the Indian market later this year.

Honda recently started testing its upcoming electric SUV, the Zero Alpha, in India. The production prototype of the 0 Alpha was flagged off from Honda’s manufacturing plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan.
The Honda 0 Alpha EV is being developed for both Indian and international markets. Both India and Japan will be among the first markets to receive this electric SUV. It has been announced that the 0 Alpha EV will make its debut in 2027.
