Why is it important to consume fennel in summer? Know its tremendous benefits

As the summer season begins, complaints of stomach heat, gas, bloating and indigestion increase. In such a situation, it is not necessary to go to the doctor every time and take medicine. Fennel kept in the kitchen is the easiest and effective home remedy to cool down stomach heat.

In Ayurveda, fennel is considered a medicine that balances Pitta dosha. Consuming one spoon of fennel daily during rising summer temperatures cools the stomach and provides relief from many problems.

According to health experts, chewing one spoon of fennel or drinking fennel water after meals reduces gas and bloating (bloating) in the stomach. It improves digestion and removes the problem of indigestion. Especially in summer, when the stomach feels heavy after eating heavy food, then fennel provides instant relief.

Fennel tea is also very beneficial for summer. Be it office fatigue or stomach cramps and swelling during periods, fennel tea provides relief from these problems. This tea gives a slightly sweet taste like liquorice and also tastes delicious.

According to the National Institute of Ayurveda, fennel has antioxidant, antibacterial and pain-relieving properties. It reduces common problems like stomach ache, constipation, gas and bloating. Fennel strengthens the digestive system and keeps intestinal activity balanced. It also proves beneficial for people with chronic problems like irritable bowel syndrome.

Making fennel tea is very easy. Boil one teaspoon of fennel seeds in a cup of water for 5-10 minutes. Filter and drink hot. You can add some honey to enhance the taste. Best effect is seen by drinking after meals. Apart from this, chewing sugar candy or drinking sherbet with fennel also provides coolness to the body and mind.

If you make a habit of consuming one spoon of fennel daily in summer, the heat in the stomach will be controlled and digestive problems will be reduced. Fennel proves helpful in keeping the stomach healthy and cool, however avoid consuming it in excess quantity. Pregnant women should use it only after consulting the doctor.
