Good news about Jasprit Bumrah, joined Mumbai Indians team before the match against KKR.

Veteran fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has joined the Mumbai Indians team, just a day before their first Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

According to the news of Indian Express, Bumrah joined the Mumbai Indians team on Friday evening and will attend his first practice session on Saturday. Bumrah did not practice with the Mumbai Indians team on Friday as he was asked to report to the Bengaluru-based Center of Excellence (COE), where his workload is being monitored.

“He joined Mumbai Indians on Friday night, and will come for practice on Saturday,” the source confirmed.

Bumrah recently played an important role in India winning the T20 World Cup, where he was the player of the match in the final against New Zealand. On the advice of the medical team, the Board sent this excellent fast bowler to COE, where he stayed for a few days to work on his strength and fitness. After the IPL, India have to play a short series with Afghanistan and then tour England in July, so the board will keep a close eye on Bumrah’s workload.

The board will remain in touch with Bumrah throughout the IPL. He has taken 186 wickets in the IPL for Mumbai Indians and the franchise will hope to continue his excellent form in the upcoming season.

During the practice session on Friday, former captain and star batsman Rohit Sharma batted for a long time in the nets along with captain Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav. Two foreign players Will Jacques and Mitchell Santner have not yet joined the Mumbai Indians team.
