There is no share of Bahujans in senior positions in the government: Rahul Gandhi said – Sad to know this, but…

New Delhi, 30 March. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday claimed that Bahujans do not have a share in senior posts in key institutions of the government. The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha made this comment after meeting a group of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe employees of Grameen Bank in his ‘Jan Sansad’ programme. He frequently meets groups from different sections of the society and has named it ‘Jan Sansad’.

Rahul Gandhi posted on Facebook, “A few days ago, I met the delegation of AC-ST Welfare Association of Gramin Bank in Jan Sansad. After listening carefully to their problems, the same thing was established which I have always been saying that Bahujans do not have a share in the senior positions of any institution.”

He said, “The colleagues in the delegation told how despite there being rules for promotion as a matter of policy, they are discriminated against. Sometimes on the pretext of work, sometimes on the pretext of qualification, their promotion is stopped. What’s more, if these Dalit-Adivasi organization officials raise their voice, they are repeatedly punished by being transferred to remote areas.” The Congress leader said that due to reservation, these communities get jobs in entry-level positions, but after that it becomes almost impossible for them to reach higher positions due to policy discrimination.

Rahul Gandhi said, “It is sad to know, but not at all surprising, that Dalits and tribals never got a chance to reach the top positions in these banks. I have been repeating this truth from every platform.” He emphasized, “We are fighting against this discrimination, this injustice. We will change this situation together, so that every section of the country gets equal participation and stake in every institution.”
