‘Assam BJP workers should increase booth power…’, PM Modi warns about AI video in Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted directly with BJP workers of Assam under the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Sambhag Samvad’ program through NaMo app. In view of the upcoming assembly elections, he called for intensifying the work at the booth level and said that the workers are working hard to get a hat-trick for BJP-NDA in Assam. The Prime Minister appreciated the commitment of the workers and, citing the wide popularity of the alliance in the state, sought their suggestions for further strengthening the campaign.

Stability is necessary for the progress of Assam

Prime Minister Modi said that before BJP came to power, Assam was in a state of instability for a long time. There have been concrete changes in various fields in the last ten years. He told the workers that new voters should be reminded of the situation during the Congress rule. He warned that even a small mistake has the potential to push Assam back, hence peace and stability are extremely important for sustainable development.

PM Modi warned booth workers about fake videos and misinformation created by AI during the election season. He said that people should be informed about this and the process of democracy should not be disrupted. The Prime Minister criticized the previous Congress governments, saying that they failed to compromise with separatist organizations and student organizations, which led to prolonged unrest in the region.

BJP will score a hat-trick in Assam

Earlier on Sunday (29 March), BJP President Nitin Naveen claimed that BJP will achieve a hat-trick by forming the government in Assam for the third time. Addressing an election rally in support of Margherita candidate and sitting BJP MLA Bhaskar Sharma, he said,"After the assembly elections, BJP is going to make a hat-trick. We first formed the government under the leadership of Sarbananda Sonowal, followed by the tenure of Himanta Biswa Sarma. This time we will form our third government under the leadership of Sarma.

Elections for the 126-member Assam Assembly will be held on April 9 and the results will be declared on May 4. This will be the first assembly election after the delimitation in 2023. Currently BJP has 64 MLAs, while its allies AGP has 9, UPPL has 7 and BPF has 3. In the opposition, Congress has 26 MLAs, AIUDF has 15 and CPI(M) has 1 MLA. An independent MLA is also present.
