CM Yogi gave 70,000 smartphones to Anganwadi sisters! Now every child’s data will come in real time
Lucknow: On Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed 69,794 smartphones to Anganwadi workers in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. He also handed over 1,33,282 stadiometers, 10,553 infantometers and 58,237 weighing machines. In this program, appointment letters were also given to the newly appointed workers.
The Chief Minister said that this step has been taken to improve service delivery and collect data in real time. He told that for the last four years he had been instructing this department that every Anganwadi worker should have a smartphone. With this, accurate data of their work will be available on time and the ranking of the state will also improve.
The role of workers will increase and so will the facilities.
Yogi Adityanath stressed on the increasing responsibility of Anganwadi workers. He said that their role will expand further in future, hence the government is providing them modern equipment and necessary facilities. Now Anganwadi centers are developing as digital service centres, which will improve performance with accurate data.
Announcement to make honorarium respectable
The Chief Minister promised to make the honorarium of Anganwadi workers dignified. He directed the department that the proposal for respectable honorarium should be passed soon. Yogi ji said, “If the Anganwadi center is smart then your honorarium should also be smart. You deserve respectable remuneration.” He said that even during the time of crisis, these workers continued the work of door-to-door screening. The government is committed to their progress.

Yogi Adityanath accused the previous governments that before 2017, the contract for nutritional supplements was given to the liquor mafia. The selection process was based on bribes and the quality of nutrition material was poor. Now selection is done honestly and there is transparency in the system.
New corporation for outsourced workers
A new corporation will be formed for outsourced workers from April. This will end exploitation of middlemen and workers will get direct and fair wages. Earlier agencies used to grab money. With this initiative, the work of Anganwadi workers will become easier and transparent, which will lead to significant improvement in the nutrition and development of children.
