More than 12 tons of KitKat chocolate bars stolen
A large consignment of KitKat chocolate bars has been stolen in Europe. Nestle issued a statement on its official Instagram handle confirming that over 12 tonnes of chocolate bars had been stolen. The company said there is no threat to consumer safety and supplies have not been affected.
“We can confirm that 12T KitKat products were stolen and were en route from our factory in central Italy to Poland. We are working closely with local authorities and supply chain partners to investigate. The good news: there is no threat to consumer safety and supplies have not been affected. Thank you,” the statement said.
Nestle said that this consignment had left their production center last week and was going to be distributed in Europe. A company spokesperson quipped about the thieves’ “exceptional taste” and said such incidents were becoming more common in the industry.
