‘One day the chair has to go…’, why did CM Yogi Adityanath say this?
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has dealt a major blow to the decades-old political superstition associated with Noida due to which previous Chief Ministers were hesitant to even step into the city. During a program organized at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, Yogi Adityanath, while sharing old memories, told how he kept the interests of the public paramount, keeping aside the fear of losing the chair. In his statement, Adityanath also said that the chair has to go one day, so why remain in attachment? He made it clear that he believes in faith but he has no room for any superstition that comes in the way of development.
Yogi Adityanath recalled the days when he was advised not to go to Noida. He said that the fear was instilled in the earlier Chief Ministers that the one who went to Noida would lose his power, but he not only challenged this myth, but also went there repeatedly to review the development works and by returning to power with full majority, he rooted out this superstition. The Chief Minister emphasized that the leaders should be interested in serving the public and not just in the seat of power.

Yogi Adityana’s statement on going to Noida
The Chief Minister mentioned the incident when officers and advisors had stopped him from going to Noida. Yogi told, ‘I was told not to go there, whoever goes loses his chair. I asked whether Noida is not a part of Uttar Pradesh? When the answer was yes, I clearly said that the chair has to go one day, then why so much attachment to it? I will definitely go. He said that for him, solving public problems was bigger than any superstition.
The truth that came before the Chief Minister after reaching Noida was shocking. He observed that around 4 lakh home buyers were tired of visiting builders. People had invested their entire life’s savings but they were not getting a house. Yogi said, ‘When I took a meeting with the officials of Noida and Greater Noida Authority, I came to know that they are in debt of Rs 9,000 crore. The authority was calling itself a beggar. I decided that whatever happens, we have to provide justice to these people who are becoming homeless.
