However, Trump later told reporters that an agreement with Iran could be reached very soon.

Trump also indicated that the move could include the capture of Kharg Island. He said, ‘Maybe we take Kharg island, maybe we don’t. We have many options. This would also mean that we would have to stay there for some time. However, when asked about the security arrangements of the island, he said, ‘I don’t think they have any special security. We can take it very easily.

The US President also said that indirect talks between the US and Iran through Pakistan are ongoing and progress is being made. But he refused to say whether a ceasefire agreement would be reached soon or not. He did say, ‘An agreement can be reached quite soon.’

The goal of regime change in Iran has been achieved

While talking to reporters on Air Force One on Sunday, Trump said that America believes that the goal of regime change in Iran has been achieved. He said, ‘If you see, there has already been a change of regime there. The first regime is completely gone, destroyed, they have all been killed. The second administration is also almost over and now in the third administration we are talking to people whom no one has ever talked to before. It’s a completely different group, so I consider it a regime change. And to be honest, he has been very practical.
