New Delhi. Delhi Police has achieved a big success. Delhi Police has arrested a man from Mysore in Karnataka who made more than 1,100 fake calls to schools, high courts and government offices across the country threatening to blow them up with bombs.

The suspect, Srinivas Lewis (47), was detained from his rented house in a coordinated operation between Delhi Police and local police teams. In recent weeks, several institutions, including the Delhi High Court, the Delhi Assembly and several educational institutions and government offices, had received bomb threats, prompting an immediate investigation.

Officials said that the accused Lewis is originally from Bengaluru and reportedly lives in a rented house with his mother. He is a retired government employee, and is currently unemployed. He indicated that initial investigations suggest he may be under mental stress.

He said that during initial interrogation, the accused has allegedly confessed to sending more than 1,100 threatening messages across the country. Police confirmed that the threats were sent through email and other communication channels, leading to multiple FIRs being filed in different states.

It is noteworthy that Delhi Police had registered the case and started a thorough investigation. After technical investigation and adding clues, the police reached Karnataka and took Lewis into custody from there and now he is being brought to Delhi.
