Sports Desk, Busted. 37-year-old Ajinkya Rahane is once again in the news. Questions were being raised about his career and future for a long time, but he has answered the critics by playing a brilliant innings in the very first match of the IPL. In the match against Mumbai Indians, Ajinkya Rahane played an excellent inning of 67 runs in 40 balls. After this he clearly said that he does not care about what people say.

Rahane said, “Let people speak about me, they have been speaking about me for the last 20 years.” He further said that he is satisfied with his batting and does not play to prove anything to anyone. Actually, speculations regarding Rahane’s career were intense for some time. He had given up the captaincy of the Mumbai Ranji team last season and did not captain the white ball tournament either. He last played for India in 2023, after which questions were being raised about his return.
Rahane also said that his game has improved in white-ball cricket in the last 2-3 years and his aim is to continuously improve as a player. He praised Jasprit Bumrah highly for the match. He said that his team could have reached 235-240 runs, but Bumrah’s last overs changed the course of the match.
Rahane said, “Bumrah’s two overs made a big difference, which is why he is such a great bowler.” After this innings, Ajinkya Rahane has once again shown that he still has plenty of experience and class, and he knows how to respond to criticism with his bat.
