Unique moment seen in Lok Sabha, Amit Shah asked for extra time for Dharmendra Yadav
Tezzbuzz Desk – An interesting and cordial scene was seen during the discussion on Naxalism under Rule 193 in the Lok Sabha on Monday. Samajwadi Party MP Dharmendra Yadav was presenting his views, when Union Home Minister Amit Shah himself stood up and recommended giving him more time.
Positive initiative seen in the house
Actually, Dharmendra Yadav was mentioning many suggestions during his speech and he said that due to less time he would not be able to present all the points. On this, Amit Shah intervened and asked the Chair to give him more time. After this, Kumari Selja, who was playing the role of chair, provided him additional time.
Disagreement with government’s claims on Naxalism
In his address, Dharmendra Yadav said that the government’s claim that Naxalism has completely ended is not completely correct, although he admitted that it has reduced. Referring to the problems of Naxal-affected states—Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha and Maharashtra—he stressed on solutions.
‘Solution arrived at through dialogue’
Citing the example of former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, the SP MP said that he had adopted the path of dialogue to deal with Naxalism, which yielded positive results. He said that due to this policy, Uttar Pradesh is Naxal-free today.
Questions raised on tribal issues
Dharmendra Yadav expressed concern over the rights and development of the tribal community. He said that mineral wealth, tendu leaves and other resources are in the possession of outsiders, while the local people are not getting their rights. He also raised issues like malnutrition, decline in education and weak implementation of schemes.
He stressed that a permanent solution to the problem of Naxalism is possible not only through security forces but through social and economic reforms. He also raised questions about the respect and rights of paramilitary forces.
