Actress Sayani Gupta launches her production house, new journey starting with ‘Aasmani’

Sayani Gupta: Actress Sayani Gupta has now started her career as a producer after working on films and streaming platforms for more than a decade. She has launched her production house ‘Sayani Gupta Movies’ (SGM), whose first project is her short film ‘Aasmaani’.

Actress steps into the world of production

Sayani Gupta says that now she does not want to be limited to acting only, but also wants to play an active role in storytelling and film production. Their aim is to present specific types of stories in the right way and to create an environment where the work can be done in a smooth and organized manner.

Sayani says, “We will move forward slowly but steadily. We will focus on just one film at a time. For us, the quality of writing, art and storytelling will always come first. Every project needs to be given the right time, care and complete attention.”

‘Aasmani’ SGM’s first project

Revathi, Darya Bedi and Abhay Kaul are in lead roles in the short film ‘Aasmani’. It has also been written and directed by Sayani. She is also producing it.

Although Sayani has been a co-producer on several projects before, like ‘Where the Winds Blow’, ‘Upper Neech’, ‘Dear Men’, and the Oscar-qualifying ‘Shameless’, ‘Aasmaani’ is her first completely self-produced project.

One year of hard work in finding the location, Pune became the base

Sayani scouted locations across Maharashtra for the film and finally chose Pune, where she has deep connections with her alma mater FTII. For him, this step is not just a new chapter in filmmaking but also in the direction of storytelling.
