Trump wrote on his social media site Truth Social that ‘America is in serious talks with a new and more intelligent regime to end its military operations in Iran. There has been considerable progress, but if for any reason an agreement is not reached soon, which is likely to be the case, and if the Strait of Hormuz is not immediately opened for trade, we will end our stay in Iran by blowing up and completely destroying all of their power generation plants, oil wells and Kharg Island.’

Trump further wrote that ‘This will be revenge for many of our soldiers and others who have been brutally killed and murdered by Iran during the old regime’s 47-year reign of terror.’ On the other hand, Iran has threatened to target the homes of American and Israeli officials.
