Eric Kripke has shared some big news about The Boys Season 5though fans may want to enjoy it while they can. The showrunner confirmed the final season is done, marking the beginning of the end for the beloved Prime Video series.
Eric Kripke reveals last episode of The Boys is ‘now totally, completely 100% done’
Eric Kripke, showrunner of Prime Video’s The Boys, has confirmed that post-production on the fifth and final season is finished.
Sharing a photo with his post-production team on InstagramKripke wrote, “The very last color tweaks on the very last VFX shots of the very last episode of #TheBoys. It’s now totally, completely 100% done. Out of our hands and heading into yours.”
The announcement comes around a week before The Boys Season 5 premiere on April 8, highlighting the intense timeline involved in completing a large-scale superhero series. Kripke reflected personally on the milestone, writing, “It’s funny, it never truly hit me that the show was over, I never got emotional when the people around me did, because there was always something to work on. Until this morning. I drove away with a lump in my throat.”
Kripke also used the post to express gratitude toward everyone involved in the production. “This was the best professional experience of my life. I’m sad it’s over and so glad it happened. My deepest love and thanks to the cast, crew and fans who loved the show like I loved the show,” he penned.
In the fifth and final season, Homelander’s dominance is total, with Hughie, Frenchie, and Mother’s Milk jailed in a Freedom Camp. Annie works to mount a resistance. Butcher returns with a virus that has the potential to wipe all Supes off, setting off a chain of events that will permanently alter the world.
The Boys Season 5 premieres April 8 on Prime Video. The returning cast includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, and Antony Starr. New additions include Daveed Diggs, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins, among others.
