Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals have been involved in a trade ahead of the season, where Sanju Samson came to the Yellow army, and Ravindra Jadeja has joined the Rajasthan Royals.

With a revamped strategy, Chennai will be aiming to return to winning ways, and Rajasthan will be aiming to replenish under Riyan Parag’s captaincy.

Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings have met on 31 occasions, where CSK has 16 wins, and the Royals have 15 wins.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking at the toss, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag said, “We are bowling first. There’s been a lot of rain. There’s going to be some moisture. It feels nice (to be captaining), the support has been incredible. Hopefully, a good campaign for us. The goal is to win the championship. We tried to have a lot of smart cricketers.”

Meanwhile, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said, ” It was a no-brainer to bowl first. Nevertheless, we’d like to start positively. You saw how the last year went for us. We went to the auction with some strategy. Let’s hope that they go really well. Our overseas players are Short, Overton, Noor and Matt Henry.”
