UP government’s strict monitoring on petrol, diesel and LPG, more than 17 thousand raids so far…

Lucknow, 31 March. 17,581 raids and inspections have been conducted since March 12 to ensure smooth supply of petrol, diesel and LPG in Uttar Pradesh and to curb black marketing and illegal selling. The government gave this information in a statement late on Monday night. During this period, 33 FIRs were registered against LPG distributors, while 189 FIRs were registered in other cases and 17 persons were arrested, the statement said. Also, prosecution proceedings have been initiated against 224 people.

It was said in the statement that following the instructions issued from the Chief Secretary level, the administration is active in all the districts and constant monitoring is being done. It has been said that the supply of petrol and diesel in the state is completely normal at present. There are 12,888 petrol pumps operating in the state. Thousands of kiloliters of fuel have been sold between March 27 and 29, while at present the stock of about 91 thousand kiloliters of petrol and 1.15 lakh kiloliters of diesel is available in the state. The government has appealed to the people not to panic and store fuel.

The statement said that the condition of LPG is also satisfactory. Cylinders are being supplied to consumers as per booking through 4,107 gas distributors of the state and sufficient stock is available. Along with this, the government has also laid emphasis on the expansion of ‘City Gas Distribution’ (CGD) network. In the meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary, instructions were given to clear the pending permissions soon and release maximum PNG connections.

Meanwhile, the central government also allowed 20 percent additional allocation for commercial LPG cylinders from March 23. To ensure continuous monitoring of the situation, a 24-hour control room has been set up in the office of the Food and Civil Supplies Commissioner. Control rooms are also active in all the districts to continuously monitor the situation, the statement said.
