Senior Pakistan player was caught ball tampering in PSL, banned for two matches
Fakhar Zaman Ball Tampering : A case of ball tampering came to light in the Pakistan Super League match played between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars on March 29. For which the umpires had imposed a penalty of five runs on Lahore Qalandars during the match. At the same time, as the controversy escalated, the team’s senior player Fakhar Zaman has been suspended for two PSL matches. This punishment has been given to Zaman for violation of Level 3 of Article 2.14.

Pakistan Cricket Board issued a statement today saying that Fakhar Zaman has been suspended for two HBL PSL matches. He was found guilty of violating Article 2.14 of the code of conduct applicable to players and support staff, a Level 3 offence, during the match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday, March 29. The incident took place in the dying moments of the match, when the on-field umpires imposed a five-run penalty on Lahore Qalandars and the ball was changed before the start of the last over of Karachi Kings’ batting innings.

This allegation was made by on-field umpires Shahid Saikat, Faisal Khan Afridi, TV umpire Asif Yaqoob and fourth umpire Tariq Rashid. Fakhar denied the offense and challenged the charge at a full disciplinary hearing, in accordance with the Code of Conduct. Match referee Roshan Mahanama held a disciplinary hearing and issued his decision after reviewing all the evidence and giving Fakhar an opportunity of a personal hearing. Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, team director Sameen Rana and team manager Farooq Anwar were also present during the hearing.
Let us tell you that Lahore Qalandars’ next match will be against Multan Sultans on Friday, 3 April at Gaddafi Stadium and against Islamabad United on Thursday, 9 April at National Bank Stadium, Karachi.
