Big action by security forces in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, 33 Naxalites arrested, huge amount of weapons, cash and gold also recovered.

In a major and coordinated action, security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar range today arrested a total of 33 Naxalites. This operation was conducted in four major districts of Bastar range, Bijapur, Dantewada, Sukma and Narayanpur, in which the security forces also recovered a huge amount of weapons, cash and gold. This operation is being seen as a significant success in anti-Naxal operations, as it has not only captured the cadres of Naxalites but has also dealt a major blow to their financial and military base.

Major action against Naxalites in Bijapur

In this action, the security forces have achieved the biggest success in Bijapur district, from where maximum 25 Naxalites were arrested. A total of 93 weapons have been recovered from Bijapur, which is considered a major center of Naxalite activities in Chhattisgarh. These weapons include four AK-47 rifles and nine SLR rifles, which are the main weapons used by the Naxalites for their violent activities. The recovery of modern and deadly weapons like AK-47 and SLR shows to what extent the Naxalites were trying to strengthen their organization. Security forces raided these locations on the basis of accurate intelligence and the Naxalites did not get a chance to recover.

Financial assets of Naxalites recovered in Bijapur

The figures of seizures in Bijapur are also very shocking in financial terms. Security forces have seized total property worth Rs 14.06 crore from here. The seizures include Rs 2.90 crore in cash, which is often raised through levies and extortion. Apart from this, 7.2 kg of gold has also been recovered, the market value of which is estimated to be around Rs 11.16 crore. The recovery of such a huge amount of cash and gold highlights the strong financial network of Naxalites and sources of illegal earnings. This money was used to buy new weapons, pay its cadres and spread its ideology. This recovery is being considered as a severe blow to the economic base of Naxalites, which will have a direct impact on their activities.

Security forces got big success in different districts

Security forces also arrested five Naxalites in Dantewada district. Eight SLR rifles and many other weapons have been recovered from them. Dantewada area has also been badly affected by Naxalite violence and there are frequent attacks on security forces. These arrests will weaken the hold of Naxalites in the area and will provide relief to the local people. Security forces say that this operation was kept completely confidential so that the Naxalites could not get a clue and they were not successful in escaping.

Success has been achieved in arresting two Naxalites in Sukma district. One LMG (Light Machine Gun) and two AK-47 rifles have been recovered from here. The LMG is a highly effective and deadly weapon, often used in ambushes. Along with weapons, Rs 10 lakh in cash has also been recovered from Sukma, which is another financial blow to the Naxalites. The operation in Sukma shows that security forces are now reaching even those remote areas, which were earlier considered to be strongholds of Naxalites.

A Naxalite was caught in Narayanpur district, from whom an LMG was recovered. This arrest in Narayanpur is also the result of continuous activity of security forces and better intelligence system. These operations conducted simultaneously in these four districts of Bastar range have dealt a multi-dimensional attack on the Naxal organization, which has weakened their morale and weakened their network to a great extent.

This joint and massive operation of the security forces has taken a big step towards restoring peace and law and order in the Naxal affected areas of Chhattisgarh. The arrest of such a large number of Naxalites and recovery of weapons and cash will have a serious impact on their organizational capacity.
