Jackfruit Pickle: As soon as we hear the name of pickle, the thoughts of mango pickle, lemon pickle, gooseberry pickle come to our mind. They enhance the taste of food, but have you ever eaten jackfruit pickle? You must have eaten jackfruit vegetable a lot but very few people would have tasted jackfruit pickle. Jackfruit pickle is also considered beneficial for health. As delicious as it is to eat, it is equally easy to make. Here we have brought for you an easy recipe of jackfruit pickle.
Jackfruit Ingredients
Jackfruit – 1/2 kg
Yellow mustard – 3 tbsp
Celery – 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds – 2 tsp
Cumin – 2 tsp
Fennel powder – 2 tsp
Ginger powder – 1 tsp
Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
Black pepper – 3/4 tsp
Black salt – 1 tsp
Mustard oil – 1 cup
Plain salt – as per taste
method of making
Step 1 – To make jackfruit pickle, first peel the jackfruit. If you want, you can get it peeled from the market because it is very difficult to peel it at home. To cut jackfruit, first apply oil on your hands and then remove its peel.
Step 2 – After cutting the jackfruit, cook it. For this, heat water in a vessel and place a sieve on top, then put all the jackfruits in it. The jackfruit will ripen due to the steam. When they become soft, turn off the gas and take them out in a vessel.
Step 3 – After this, grind cumin, black pepper, fenugreek seeds, celery, yellow mustard and other dry whole spices.
Step 4 – Now heat oil in a pan and add turmeric, asafoetida and steamed jackfruit and fry it for 2 minutes. After this turn off the gas.
Step 5 – After this add ground spices to the jackfruit. After mixing the ground spices, add red chili powder, fennel, ginger powder, black salt and plain salt as per taste and mix well.
Step 6 – Now keep it in a glass jar and expose it to sunlight for 3-4 days. Then enjoy it.
