Pakistan Cricket Board imposed a fine of Rs 2 crore on Naseem Shah, one post created a whole ruckus

Naseem Shah fined by PCB: Controversy has once again reached its peak in Pakistan cricket and this time the matter is related to the team’s star fast bowler Naseem Shah. A social media post created such an uproar that the Pakistan Cricket Board had to take strict action and the player had to face heavy punishment.

A controversial post regarding Maryam Nawaz has also affected Naseem Shah’s career. Despite apologizing and giving clarification, the board did not show leniency and imposed a heavy fine on him, which has created a stir in Pakistan cricket.

PCB gave severe punishment to Naseem Shah

After hearing the case, Pakistan Cricket Board has imposed a fine of 2 crore Pakistani rupees (about 68 lakh Indian rupees) on Naseem Shah. This decision was taken after the meeting of the disciplinary committee, in which Naseem Shah presented his side and also apologized unconditionally.

However, the board did not consider his explanation sufficient and took this major action considering the controversial post as serious. After this decision it became clear that PCB is in no mood to give any relaxation in matters of discipline.

More than half the salary was affected

This punishment of PCB proved to be heavy for Naseem Shah because it is more than half of his annual salary. Naseem Shah has been placed in Grade C in the Central contract, under which he gets around 2.5 million Pakistani rupees (about 85 lakh Indian rupees) annually.

This post created an uproar

The whole controversy started when Naseem Shah commented on Maryam Nawaz while reacting to a social media post of PCB. He raised questions as to why he was being treated as if he was part of a royal function.

Actually, Naseem Shah was angry with the decision to hold the PSL 2026 match without spectators and that is why he had posted this. Although after the controversy escalated, he deleted the post and also claimed that the account was hacked, but by then the matter had reached its peak.
