CM Dhami gave a big gift to the farmers, created a new history with ITBP

Dehradun: In the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a major decision was taken on Wednesday that will change the fate of the border areas and farmers of Uttarakhand. An important agreement (MoU) has been signed under the ‘Vibrant Village Programme’ at the Chief Minister’s residence. This agreement has been signed between Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Uttarakhand Horticultural Council, which will directly benefit the local farmers of Uttarakhand and the soldiers deployed in the security of the country.

Soldiers will get strength and farmers will get right price

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has described this MoU as a revolutionary step towards the development of the state. He said that after this agreement, ITBP personnel deployed in Uttarakhand will now be given locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables. With this, not only will our brave soldiers get nutritious and pure food, but the farmers working hard in remote areas will also be able to get a fair price for their crops. Now farmers will not have to wander to sell their produce.

The picture of border districts will change

The Chief Minister stressed that this initiative will further strengthen the resolve of “Vocal for Local”. Under this arrangement, local products will be supplied to border districts like Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Champawat as well as Dehradun. This will improve the economic condition of farmers in border areas and will provide them relief from market challenges. CM Dhami made it clear that his government is completely dedicated to the benefit of farmers and welfare of soldiers.

Earning worth crores will be done, the effect is visible

Let us tell you that this is not happening for the first time under the ‘Vibrant Village Programme’. Even before this, there was an agreement between Uttarakhand government and ITBP for the purchase of local products, the results of which have been quite encouraging. Talking about the figures, ITBP has so far purchased local products worth Rs 14 crore 77 lakh. It is estimated that if ITBP purchases only 25 percent of its annual requirement of fruits and vegetables locally, it will generate additional income of about Rs 6 crore to the hill farmers.

On this important occasion, Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi, Secretary S.N. Pandey, ITBP IG Manu Maharaj and many senior officials of the government and army were present.
