Delhi Film Festival 2026 colored in the colors of the tricolor, films drenched in patriotism won the hearts of the audience.

Tezzbuzz Desk – International Film Festival Delhi (IFFD) 2026 seemed drenched in the spirit of patriotism this time. This 7-day festival, organized from March 25 to March 31, was organized at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and various multiplexes of the city, where the audience took a unique experience of patriotism through cinema.

Special screening on closing day

The festival concluded on 31 March 2026, with a special screening. During this, “Shatak: Sangh ke 100 Varsh” was displayed, which shows the 100 years of RSS and its role in national movements. Along with this, a short film based on Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai was also shown.

Apart from this, classic patriotic films restored by the National Film Archive of India (NFAI) were also screened, which included Kranti, Haqeeqat, Saat Hindustani and Shaheed.

This film festival screened more than 125 films selected from around 2000 entries from more than 100 countries. The themes of the films were mainly based on patriotism, freedom struggle, courage of the Indian Army and contribution of rural youth.

Many films depicted the struggle of freedom fighters, while some brought the sacrifice and courage of soldiers to life on the big screen. The audience felt these stories emotionally and on several occasions the theater burst into applause.

During the screening, whenever the tricolor was shown on the screen, the audience was seen standing and singing the national anthem. These patriotic films impressed audiences of all ages—from children to elders, everyone got connected and emotional with the experience.

Many well-known personalities attended the closing ceremony of this film festival, which included Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor, Piyush Mishra, Imtiaz Ali and Sharmila Tagore.

On this occasion, the birth centenary of Indian cinema legend Guru Dutt was also celebrated, while tribute was paid to late actor Dharmendra.
