Chandigarh1 April. A suspicious explosion was reported outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Chandigarh on Wednesday, causing panic in the area. Security forces and police immediately reached the spot, surrounded the area and started investigation.
The exact cause of the explosion is still unclear, but officials are assessing the damage and investigating the injured. This incident has raised serious security concerns. CFSL team and Chandigarh Police officials have reached the spot. The blast occurred around 5.57 pm in the parking area near the office, reportedly involving a scooter parked outside.
BJP state unit leader Vineet Joshi said, ‘These voices were heard around five in the evening. We came out, the police has reached the spot. The glasses of some vehicles have been damaged and the police are investigating the matter.
No news of injuries or casualties
The sound of the explosion was heard far away, causing panic in the surrounding area, although there were no reports of injuries or casualties and there was no damage to the BJP office. Initial reports described it as a bomb blast.
But after official confirmation in a report, there is a possibility of battery explosion in the scooter. Forensic teams have been deployed at the spot along with bomb and search squads and police have sealed the area while examining the CCTV footage.
