Manchester City have moved into a strong position in the race to sign Elliot Anderson, with sources close to agent circles indicating that the Premier League champions have made the midfielder their top priority this summer.

The club are now working to accelerate negotiations as they look to secure the deal before the upcoming World Cup. There is a growing belief within the club that Anderson’s valuation, already reported to be around £100 million, could rise further if he delivers a standout performance on the international stage.
