Barcelona could significantly boost summer transfer budget by selling £70m defender this summer amid Premier League interest
Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are all reportedly interested in signing Barcelona defender Jules Kounde.
The France international made the move to Barcelona from Sevilla in the summer of 2022, and he has represented the Catalan giants on 181 occasions in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and registering 22 assists in the process.
Kounde has been on the sidelines for the last month due to a hamstring issue, but he has been a vital player for Barcelona during the 2025-26 campaign, scoring three goals and registering four assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.
According to Sports World Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea are all interested in signing the 27-year-old, with offers potentially arriving this summer.

Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea ‘all interested’ in Kounde
The report claims that Barcelona are ‘counting’ on Kounde and have no plans to sanction a departure during the upcoming market.
However, it has been suggested that an offer of £70m could potentially arrive from the Premier League, which would be incredibly difficult to turn down.
Barcelona are planning to be active during this summer’s transfer window, with Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez a forward target, while Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni is a defensive target.
A big-money exit for Kounde could give Barcelona the funds required to bring in at least a couple of their targets ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Kounde was signed by Barcelona as a centre-back, but he continues to feature as a right-back, making that position his own for the Catalan outfit.

Should Barcelona sell Kounde this summer?
Kounde is one of the leading right-backs in world football, but Barcelona should give serious consideration to selling the Frenchman this summer if a major offer arrives.
Eric Garcia and Ronald Araujo are both capable of operating in that area, in addition to 18-year-old Xavi Espart, while Joao Cancelo’s loan from Al-Hilal could potentially be extended.
Barcelona’s financial situation means that they will have to move players on in order to invest this summer, and Kounde is an individual capable of raising a large fee, with teams from the Premier League seemingly preparing substantial offers.
