BJP MP Nishikant Dubey issued an unconditional apology for his recent remarks that were perceived as disrespectful toward former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik.
Dubey clarified his position in a post on X, stating that his comments during a media interaction were misinterpreted. He explained that his criticism targeted the Nehru-Gandhi family and not Biju Patnaik, whom he described as a towering statesman.
He emphasised that Biju Patnaik holds a place of high respect and admiration across India. Dubey acknowledged that his words may have hurt sentiments and expressed regret for any unintended offence.
“Biju Babu has always remained a tall statesman for us and will continue to be so,” Dubey wrote. He reiterated that the statement reflected his personal views and that any confusion linking it to Biju Patnaik was unfortunate.
