From today i.e. April 1, 2026 some restrictions have been imposed on Chinese owned internet connected CCTV cameras in India. According to information received, now no company will be able to sell such cameras in the country unless they meet the prescribed safety standards. The central government has implemented this important rule from the point of view of national security.

These conditions have to be fulfilled for the sale of CCTV cameras

According to the new rules issued by the central government, companies manufacturing CCTV cameras will have to share complete data of their products with the government. Also, it has to be ensured that the data related to this device does not go outside India. The problems of these companies are likely to increase

It is also being said that this decision taken by the central government may particularly affect the Indian market of major Chinese companies such as Hikvision and Dahua. Because now many products of these companies will come under new safety standards. As per the new guidelines, it will be mandatory for all CCTV equipment to be tested and certified by a government laboratory. Companies will also have to comply with regulations related to data security and local storage. Apart from this, companies will also have to share information about their software and hardware.
