An explosion in Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, on Wednesday left the entire city in panic. The sudden explosion outside the Bharatiya Janata Party office located in Sector-37 created chaos in the area. The sound of the explosion was so loud that it was heard in the surrounding areas, creating an atmosphere of fear among the people.

According to preliminary information, a massive explosion occurred in a scooter parked outside the BJP office at around 4 pm. The explosion was so strong that the people present nearby got scared and immediately started running towards safe places.
However, it is a matter of relief that there was no loss of life in this incident. There is no report of any major damage inside the office either.
Police and security agencies activated
As soon as information about the incident was received, police, fire department and senior officials reached the spot. The investigation is being led by senior officer Pushpendra Kumar. The entire area has been immediately sealed and any suspicious activity is being monitored. Dog squad, bomb squad and forensic team have also been called to the spot, which are busy collecting evidence.
