An awareness seminar related to the communication campaign was organized by Chief Development Officer Jagriti Awasthi in the auditorium of the Chief Medical Officer. District Malaria Officer, conducting the program, told about the communication campaign that in this campaign, a total of 11 departments will work together to try to prevent various communicable diseases like malaria, dengue, TB etc. and will also work to spread awareness about these diseases among the public.
Chief Medical Officer, Sonbhadra said that in the campaign, all the ASHAs and Anganwadis of the district will go door to door and tell the citizens about the symptoms, treatment and prevention measures of various communicable diseases. Addressing the seminar, the Chief Development Officer said that the responsibilities of different departments have been fixed separately, under which the Panchayat Raj Department has to do antilarval spraying, fogging, cleaning of drains and ponds in rural areas, cutting of bushes, provision of pure drinking water etc.
The Urban Development Department has to discharge all the above responsibilities in the urban area. The Education Department will provide training to students in schools on personal hygiene such as washing hands after defecation and before meals, cleanliness, drinking adequate amount of water in the summer season and avoiding sunlight etc. The Agriculture Department will spread awareness among the villagers about the diseases caused by reptiles like rats, moles etc. The Animal Husbandry Department will explain measures to keep animals away from home and prevent them from animal-borne diseases.
Chief Development Officer Jagriti Awasthi said that this campaign will run till the entire month of April. In view of the heat and heat wave in the month of April, all the departments, especially the Panchayat Raj Department, Education Department and Medical Department, will ensure the provision of pure drinking water in Panchayat buildings, intersections, schools, offices and hospitals. In the end, Dr. Premnath, Additional Chief Medical Officer expressed his gratitude to all the guests. Employees like RK Singh, Anil Dubey, Kumar Shubham, Devashish Pandey, Madhu, Kumari Juhi Singh, Sabhajit Prasad etc. were present in the program.
