Bengaluru AI startup raises $10 million to expand globally
Gnani.ai has raised $10 million in its Series B funding round, led by Aavishkaar Capital, with participation from existing investor Info Edge Ventures.
The funding marks the first close of a larger planned round and is expected to accelerate the company’s global expansion and strengthen its artificial intelligence capabilities.
Focus on voice-first AI growth
Founded in 2016 by Ganesh Gopalan and Ananth Nagaraj, Gnani.ai has developed a leading voice AI platform in India. The company currently processes over 30 million voice interactions daily across more than 12 languages, serving over 200 enterprise clients, including Fortune 500 companies.
The fresh capital will be used to enhance its agentic AI capabilities, expand multilingual and industry-specific solutions, and build stronger engineering and product teams.
Advancing sovereign AI capabilities
Gnani.ai recently launched Inya VoiceOS, a 5-billion-parameter voice-to-voice foundational AI model, at the AI Impact Summit 2026. The platform enables direct speech-to-speech processing, eliminating the need for traditional speech-to-text and text-to-speech layers.
The company is also among the select startups backed under the Government of India’s AI Mission for developing sovereign foundational AI technologies.
Investor confidence in deeptech
Aavishkaar Capital highlighted the growing importance of deeptech in addressing real-world challenges such as financial inclusion, climate resilience, and access to services. The investment reflects confidence in Gnani.ai’s scalable technology and its potential to create meaningful impact globally.
With this funding, the Bengaluru-based startup aims to strengthen its position in the rapidly evolving AI landscape while expanding its footprint in international markets.
